Sengoku Rance Review

Hallelujaaaaah!
It was a great adventure! After playing for hours (I think it was 20 hour-ish), I beat Sengoku Rance true route just minutes ago. It was a great game, just at the right difficulty with a very rewarding outcome at the end, great story, and very entertaining. A totally must play!

Sengoku Rance has been translated to English, so non-native Japanese speakers enjoy ^o^

Main title
Sengoku Rance
by AliceSoft
Released: Dec 15, 2006

So, what is Sengoku Rance? Sengoku Rance is the 7th instalment of AliceSoft's Rance series, which tells the tale of a character named Rance. As you might have predicted, all tales of Rance are continuous, so this 7th instalment continues the story from the past instalments. Even so, you can enjoy playing this title as a standalone, as the story of each instalment is not totally dependant. You might lose on some characters background story though.

What incredible is, how the story in Sengoku Rance is complex. The story here is not your typical visual novel. The true route is just incredible, everything moves out of your predictions and wraps up nicely. Furthermore, as you have read before, each characters have their own stories. By developing their friendship with Rance, you might see their stories. For your information, each character background stories is even as good as the true route, and I'm wondering that they even can be the main stories of their own game. While they are deep in contents, the stories also downright hilarious in some parts hahaha xD

Moreover, this time around, Rance ends up in Sengoku era, so see his friendship with Sengoku Era lords! xD

What is this visual novel looks like? Here I will show you the gist of it:

First is the map of Japan and what area have you taken control of. Basically you can select cities and do things in them. Or take other daimyo cities maybe?

Anyway, you can also deepen your friendship with your officers. Here is Rance eating snacks (lol, in the war -period) with Houjyou Sounn

If you go to war, you select your officers to take to the war. Officer can be caught or killed when defeated, so plan your strategy carefully!

And you fight! The fights is turn based and arguably, turn based strategies makes the battle harder. Other than war battles, you can also fight officer battles and dungeon exploring, or hunting for forest pigs

Next up is my scores!
