Change of Pace: Austria

o ye
Hello again everyone! Meet again with me, Seorang, on another post. Today, I will tell you a story of my travelling experience. The experience has been long in the past though, it was in winter last year. I just haven't been able to find a good time to write this post (or...'get in the groove' xD) until now, so I just write it now ^o^

As you folks have been able to predict from the title, this post theme will be about: Austria!! A country dear to classical music lovers and instrumental music lovers, this country has a lot of history regarding music. Unfortunately I was only able to cover Wien, unable to go to other big city in Austria called Salzburg. Nevertheless the city was very fascinating and especially since I went there in the christmas eve, I was able to experience the winter market there xD. Moreover, it was a white christmas! xD

Tune to it folks! xD

Well, let me tell the story chronologically this time around so to make it easier for me to recall the experiences and for the readers to digest the story xD

It was December 22th. I with my friends (a lot of them) just arrived in the Wien Station using the bus Eurolines from Praha (the tale in Praha coming in the next post! xD). I remember clearly the day was snowy when we are departing from Praha, and along the road, snow was everywhere. I mean it. I looked hardly for any snow in Praha but encountered none and suddenly it appeared on the road. Continuing talking about the bus trip, from Praha to Wien, we have to pass through mountains, so the road was going up and down. Ah also, along the road, we passed by some villages on the mountain, and they were really villages. I didn't see any big buildings, supermarkets, etc., but only houses. Even, I see a house in a middle of nowhere on the mountains. Made me wonder how the people living on that house contact the outer world -_-".

Upon arriving at the Wien Station, we go to the train station to take a train to the city centre. The ticket is quite expensive. It is about 20 USD for 4 times travel IIRC. By the way, Austrians use German for talking, so it was kind of nostalgic since I learnt German before Dutch but not able to use it since I went to a Dutch country before German. So I just go entschuldigung here everywhere wakakaka ^o^

At the city centre, we have to walk for about fifteen minutes to reach our accommodation. The accommodation was eccentric anyway, I saw there is an old telephone box in the hostel hahaa. The accommodation was not the best, but at least I can eat all you can eat for the breakfast :d.

We visit a bunch of spots in the city throughout our 3 days stay there. We visit Das Wiener Reisenrad (it's German so I have to write in capitals xD), Wien Opera House, Some-Musician-Name Statue (I forgot xD), Blue Danube (it's a river that was made into a song. If you ever watch Swan Lake the song should be familiar xD), shopping district (of course) (and shocked when seeing the price of an Hermes -_-"), and also the Wien Wintermarket! Actually, there are many winter market in Wien with each concentrated at different spot. We still went to the biggest anyways xD.

Afterwards, it is the 24 December! It was the time for us to continue to our next destination, Rome! We had decided to see the christmas there (even though many people testified that Rome isn't getting snow this time year around we still went there. And there wasn't any snow -_-"). Some of us also very enthusiastic to go to Vatican and pray for christmas there anyway so off we went there! More story on another post~ hahaa xD

That's all folks! Thanks for reading and hope it is enjoyable! ^o^
