About the Traditional Dances of the Netherlands

Halo

So, I have an assignment from my class to say about differences between two countries. I figured that I would talk about Indonesia and the Netherlands, since it would engage the interest most (I am from Indonesia so it will be easy for me to talk about it, I suppose :p). Since all of the students are now in the Netherlands, bringing a subject about it will incite their curiosity. I figured that I would take dancing for one of the subtle difference I would talk about. So as I am researching about Dutch dances, I stumbled open some videos...and they are amazingly beautiful.

By the way, I have the videos so I think I would share it with all of you guys. Hopefully also, even though the dance is rarely practiced in public these days, by sharing them here I could preserve the dance so when tens or hundreds years later when the Dutch want to practice the dance again they know where to seek them :d.

N.B.: (videos were originally from an old Dutch site. I am just reposting them here)

Here they are!

Carl Eris Wals

Henriks Mazurka

Ijswals

Oide Step

Pot van Cees en Tonia

Probably I will write some description about the dances, but not right now :d.
See you next time folks! ^o^
