The Grandiose of Visual Novel Opening

Hi readers! After AFK for weeks, I would like to tell you all one of my favorite time wasting on my free time. It is quite unusual I believe; watching visual novel openings. Mainly I watch them to analyse the effects and music people are using in constructing them which then I try to implement them to hone my movie editing skill. Lately things has been becoming more addicting as more amusing and entertaining openings, with either incredibly good effects or nice music or even odd-but-strikingly-funny sequences, come arise. I believe it would be more feasible to show you, so here is my list of recommended openings!

(Special Mention) Haruiro Ouse
by PurpleSoftware
2010

I specially mentioned Haruiro Ouse. I am quite impressed with the opening, even though it is not superbly done as Happy Maher is. I specially mentioned this visual novel because it is one of the best made by PurpleSoftware. So, if you are thinking to try some visual novel by PurpleSoftware, I recommend you to consider this one. It is one of the best which PurpleSoftware has ever made before their quality started to decline (I haven't played Hapy Maher, so I don't know if their quality has bounced back).
If you haven't gotten any intention to play any PurpleSoftware titles, their forte themed around romance and drama, if that might interest you.

Hello, Good Bye
by Lump of Sugar
2010

Incredible effects. Incredible music. All of them are very nicely synchronised. This opening was awarded the best opening in 2010 by many people. I would give it my two cents myself.

Natsuzora Kanata
by YuzuSoft
2008

I remember watched this opening repeatedly, numerous times, when the visual novel was about to be released and continued even after it had been released. It was a masterpiece at that time. Lucid animations, good music, and simple-but-effective effects.

Dracu-Riot!
by YuzuSoft
2011

Funny song haha. Really, this visual novel is all about lolol. Just search for some subbed in-visual novel video on Youtube.
This title has been gaining popularity recently, with translated manga coming out and visual novel translation finished about halfway.

Kitto, Sumiwataru Asairo Yori mo
by Propeller
2009

A good brush effects. Smooth animation. Beautiful music.

Boku ga Tenshi ni Natta Wake
by Overdrive
2013

Beautiful animation. Good song. Great combination of static and animation. Overdrive has been famous for their high quality animation-and-static hybrid styled movie and I believe they nailed this one.

Grisaia Trilogy
- Grisaia no Kajitsu
by FrontWing
2010

Grisaia Trilogy are well-known for their awesome openings. All of them are nominated for the best openings in their respective years.
Incredible opening. Awesome animation and great song. Everything is so smooth too. I watched this repeatedly and numerous times in the past (and even now!). This opening was also awarded the best opening in 2010 by many people.
Some fun facts: This visual novel will be adapted into anime. It will be out in this autumn I believe. Some people (myself included) thought this title as a spiritual successor to Full Metal Panic!, so we can expect a military idiocy lolol! Will we see the second Full Metal Panic!? Hopefully the adaption will be as beautiful and smooth as the opening.

- Grisaia no Meikyuu
by FrontWing
2011

Another masterpiece. Really nice effects, smooth animation, and incredible music. Awarded the best opening in 2011 by many people. I would also give it the award.
This visual novel is exceptional. Aside from the great opening, it is also supported by famous voice actors. I can identify at least Kawashima Rino, Izumi Maki and Aoyama Yukari in one title, which rarely happens.

- Grisaia no Rakuen
by FrontWing
2012

The closure of Grisaia trilogy. Also with another great opening. Great music, great animation, incredible effects! I would nominate this as one of the best opening in the year.

(Special Metion) Hatsuyuki Sakura
by Saga Planets
2012

Great effects, memorable animations. It is quite a good title, thus I give it a special mention here. Play it people! xD
Honestly, the music is not catchy to my ear in the beginning. After some people keep uploading the same music on Youtube with variations (MADs, compilations, you name it) and I was 'forced' to hear it again and again, it started to sound quite good.

Hatsukoi 1/1
by tone works
2012

Beautiful animations, great effects. Nice music by Kotoko! She rarely sings in an opening recently, but when she does, she nailed it.

Twinkle Crusaders -Passion Star Stream- Venus Embryo
by Lilian
2012

Very catchy music. Smooth animation and incredible animations.

Daitetoku
by AliceSoft
2011

Nice animations. Great transitions and conservative use of movie.

Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou
by Navel
2012

Good effects. Kind of new to the video editing, it is a nice addition.

Well, that's all I can think of now guys! Thank you for reading till the end and I hope you enjoy this post. I'll add other openings if I managed to recall others, so keep on watching this post for updates!
