Today was my free day and so I decided to spend some of it by reading a visual novel out of the shelf. My choice happens to be Natsuzora no Perseus ~the Brave under the Summer Sky~. Made by minori a year ago, I have touch the visual novel just for a while a month ago IIRC before suspend continuing it since I was focusing on completing Rewrite at the moment. Not a while ago I browsed the internet and heard good things about this game. Apparently it won the Best Graphic of 2012 by Getchu (a widely known visual novel database, red.) and that nailed my interest in reading this title.

The story started with Toono Shinra and Toono Ren return to the village. After returning they met other villagers and befriended them. Shinra has the power to 'move' pain of other people, a mysterious power that might be useful in the village, but how would Shinra make most use of his power?

Story: 8/10

The premise was interesting. Even so, the story lacked depth. It was so short (not more than 10 hours!) so not many development happens. Albeit all that, the story style was still unorthodox. I cannot imagine how the story turns the way it is told. I recommend this title for at least this irregular distinction!

Graphic: 9/10

Totally stunning and beautiful. A high quality work from minori. Unfortunately, unlike their other works, there is no outstanding artwork IMO, thus unable to achieving maximum score.

Music: 7/10

Music used are very fitting for all situations they are used for. Unfortunately, not many are memorable. It is acceptable though, considering the low budget this title is made up from.

Personal Impression: 7.5/10 -> 15/20 (x2)

The unorthodox story was good. The graphic was stunning. Plus, it is from minori. Better than your typical visual novel, absolutely.

Overall: 39/50 (79%)

As expected from minori, everything was done beautifully. The graphic was epic, the music is good, and the characters were quite well developed. Unfortunately. the title was not made with the most resources possible. minori seems to have financial problems prior to the development of this title and apparently the funding for this title is totally handled by an angel investor. This title has so much potential to what it is shown, but that financial problems might be the reason. But, hey, minori has made sequels to compensate that! Can't wait for those releases.
